Rev Angel

Called “the most intriguing African-American Buddhist” by Library Journal, Rev. angel Kyodo williams Sensei is a maverick dharma teacher, author of Being Black: Zen and the Art of Living with Fearlessness and Grace, spiritual leader of the new Dharma Community and founder of the Center for Transformative Change. She applies wisdom teaching to intractable social issues at the intersections of climate change, racial and economic justice. Both fierce and grounded, Rev. angel is known for her unflinching willingness to both sit with and speak uncomfortable truths. She calls for an embodied, radical dharma within communities of mindfulness, meditation and yoga to secure our integrity, leadership and future relevance.  She notes, “Love and Justice are not two. Without inner change, there can be no outer change. Without collective change, no change matters.”
